The train communication between Dhaka and the rest of the country was
normalized after a disruption for two and a half hours caused by the derailment
of a Dhaka-bound train at the capital’s Karwan Bazar.
A coach of intercity train Jamuna Express derailed at 8:00am on Wednesday
forcing other trains to use one line instead of two.
Ferdous Ahmed, a railway police officer, told Bonik Barta that the derailed
train was brought back on the line at 10:30 am normalizing the train movement.
So far, there have been no reports of casualties due to the derailment, he
said.
