BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has urged the government not to hatch conspiracies through signing different agreements involving the country.

“Independence and sovereignty of the country are at stake for the agreements signed. I will say to you: Do not hatch conspiracies against the country. What have you brought from India,” he said while addressing as the chief guest at a human chain organized by Nari O Shishu Odhikar Forum, a pro-BNP platform, in front of BNP central office at Naya Paltan on Thursday.

“There’s no talk about water anywhere. There has been no solution regarding common rivers, including Teesta. You don’t talk about border killings. Is there any friendly country in the world that kills friends at the border? People cannot be misled,” he added.

Demanding free and fair election, the BNP secretary general said, “We want free, fair and neutral election. The country is in grave danger. There is alternative to establishing a people’s government through a participatory election after freeing Khaleda Zia.”

The government has imprisoned Khaleda Zia to kill her, he alleged, urging people to participate in the movement.
