23,863 Bangladeshi pilgrims return so far from Saudi Arabia, 51 die

Fifty one Bangladeshi pilgrims died in Saudi Arabia while performing this year’s Hajj, according to Ministry of Religious Affairs.

Of them, 38 were male and 13 were female pilgrims. Most of them died in Makkah.

The deceased are to be buried in Saudi Arabia as per the law of the kingdom.

So far, 23,863 pilgrims returned home after performing the Hajj on June 17. They were brought back in 61 flights. Biman Bangladesh Airlines operated 17 flights, Saudia 24 flights and Flynas operated 20 flights.

This year, a total of 85,225 (including management members) Bangladeshis performed Hajj.

For 2025, Saudi Arabia has allocated a quota of 127,198 people for Bangladesh.
