Bangladesh
Meteorological Department (BMD) today (Tuesday, October 1) predicted light to
moderate rain at many places over the country within the next 24 hours as of 9
am tomorrow.
"Light
to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is
likely to occur at most places over Dhaka, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet
divisions and at many places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh and Khulna
divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at several places over the country",
it said.
The
axis of monsoon trough runs through Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West
Bengal to Assam across central part of Bangladesh. One of its associated
troughs extends up to North Bay.
Monsoon
is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate over North Bay.
Country's
maximum temperature on Monday was recorded 36.4 degrees Celsius at Mongla and
minimum temperature today was recorded 24.8 degree Celsius jointly at Madaripur
and Bandarban.
Country's
highest rainfall for the last 24 hours till 6am today was recorded 142
millimeters (mm) at Sylhet.
Day
and night temperature may fall by 1-2 degrees Celsius over the country.
The
