Four
people have died in a head-on collision between a bus and a truck in Tangail.
At least eight others have been injured in the incident. The accident occurred
around 1 am on Thursday, October 3, on the Kalihati Link Road of the
Tangail-Mymensingh Highway. The identities of the deceased have not been
confirmed yet. The injured have been rescued and admitted to Tangail General
Hospital.
The
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Elenga Highway Police Station, Md. Nannu Khan has
confirmed the incident.
OC
Nannu Khan said that around 1 am, a bus traveling from Dhaka to Mymensingh
collided head-on with a truck from Kalihati when it reached the Mymensingh Link
Road on the Dhaka-Tangail Highway. Four people died at the scene, and eight
others were injured.
The
injured have been rescued and admitted to Tangail General Hospital. The OC also
mentioned that the bus and truck involved in the accident had been seized. The
bodies of the deceased are being kept at the highway police outpost. The
accident caused a traffic jam during the night, but vehicle movement has now
returned to normal.
