Since the launch of the online tax return submission system, more than 50,000 tax returns have been filed online. The National Board of Revenue (NBR) disclosed this information in a press release issued today, Thursday (October 3).
The
press release mentioned that the NBR made the online tax return submission system available to taxpayers starting September 9 to simplify tax filing and compliance for the 2024-25 fiscal year. Individual taxpayers can now
easily prepare and submit their returns online through the NBR's website,
www.etaxnbr.gov.bd.
Through
this system, taxpayers can pay taxes via Internet banking, card payments (debit
or credit cards), and mobile banking. They can also download and print copies
of their filed returns, acknowledgment receipts, tax certificates, and TIN
certificates. In addition, previous year's e-returns can be downloaded and
printed.
The NBR has set up a call center to assist taxpayers with any e-return-related issues. Since September 12, taxpayers can call the hotline at 09643717171 for
immediate solutions to their queries. Additionally, taxpayers can submit
written inquiries through the e-tax service option on www.etaxnbr.gov.bd and
receive solutions.
The
NBR also stated that the e-return registration process has been made more
taxpayer-friendly. Taxpayers need their TIN and a biometrically verified mobile number registered in their name to register. To verify if their mobile
number is biometrically registered with their national ID, taxpayers can dial
*16001#.
The
NBR congratulated those who have successfully filed their tax returns online
and urged other individual taxpayers to file their returns online through the
portal on time.
