The BNP rally has begun
in Nayapaltan, the capital. The party's acting chairman, Tarique Rahman, will
deliver a speech virtually from London, UK, as the chief guest. The rally
started today, Tuesday (September 17), after 2 pm.
At around 2:30 pm, the
rally officially began in front of the party office to commemorate victims of
political repression and observe International Democracy Day. Many party
central leaders had already arrived in the Nayapaltan area.
BNP Secretary General
Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir will preside over the rally, which will be
moderated by BNP Publicity Secretary Sultan Salahuddin Tuku. Additionally,
members of the BNP National Standing Committee and senior leaders will address
the gathering.
Meanwhile, the BNP rally
has caused severe traffic congestion in the surrounding areas.
