Malaysian
Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has arrived in Dhaka on a brief visit. His flight
landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport this afternoon (Friday,
October 4). According to state protocol, he was greeted with a Guard of Honor and welcomed by the head of the interim government, Dr. Muhammad Yunus.
According
to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, discussions during the visit are expected
to focus on politics, the economy, and labor market issues. Prime Minister
Anwar Ibrahim is accompanied by a 58-member delegation that includes members of
his cabinet, deputy ministers, parliamentarians, senior government officials,
and high-level representatives.
It
has been reported that Anwar Ibrahim shares a long-standing friendship with Dr.
Yunus and is visiting at his invitation. During this visit, the Malaysian Prime Minister may also bring positive news regarding labor market issues.
