National review committee calls for corruption complaints in energy sector

According to a public notification issued by the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources today (Thursday, October 3), the National Review Committee (NRC) has invited people to submit evidence or information regarding corruption in the power and energy sector.

The committee requested people to submit their complaints and relevant documents to help investigate deals signed under the Quick Enhancement of Electricity and Energy Supply (Special Provision) Act 2010 during the previous Awami League regime.

A five-member committee headed by retired High Court Division Justice Moinul Islam Chowdhury was formed on September 5 to review contracts signed under the Quick Enhancement of Electricity and Energy Supply (Special Provision) Act 2010 (Amendment 2021).

The notification said that individuals with evidence or information regarding corruption under the contracts mentioned above can email their complaints to the committee ([email protected]) from October 4 to October 31, 2024.

It said that the committee will take necessary measures after communicating with the complainant and accused person or his institution or organization to this end.

The notification also said that the committee will take the initiative to collect necessary information and support from companies and organizations concerned and engage in various activities by signing contracts under the Special Provision.

It requested all television channels to broadcast this announcement in a scrolling format.
