Police
have arrested one charge-sheeted accused in the case filed over attacking
former US Ambassador to Bangladesh Marcia Bernicat's motorcade in the capital's
Mohammadpur area in 2018. A team of the Detective Branch (DB) of police
arrested Siam Hasan, 26, conducting a drive at a house at Tajmohol Road under
Mohammadpur Police Station at 11:30 pm on Monday, according to a SMS of the DB
media and public relations wing.
Siam
was accused in the supplementary charge sheet in the case filed with
Mohammadpur Police Station over attacking the motorcade of Bernicat.
According to the media reports, the vehicle carrying the former US ambassador came under attack as it left the house of Shusashoner Jonno Nagorik (Shujan) Secretary Badiul Alam Majumdar in Mohammadpur at night on August 4 in 2018.
Siam
was also accused in the cases filed over killings during the recent
anti-discrimination student movement.
