Current
commissioner Mohammad Mohsin Chowdhury has been appointed as the acting
chairman of the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC), the
regulatory body for the capital market.
This
order was issued on Sunday (August 11), by Deputy Secretary of the Financial
Institutions Division of the Ministry of Finance, Farida Yasmin, under the
directive of the President.
According
to the order, Commissioner Mohammad Mohsin Chowdhury will serve as the acting
chairman of BSEC until further notice. This order, issued in the public
interest, is effective immediately.
The
order also states that it will take effect from the date of submission of the
resignation letter by BSEC Chairman Professor Shibli Rubayat Ul Islam on August
10.
