In light of Forces Goal - 2030 for the development of the armed forces, purchasing of weapons is ongoing, which will enhance the capability of the military in the future, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said in Parliament on Wednesday.

In reply to a written question from Awami League member Habibur Rahman, she said that weapons are being purchased from Russia, China, Turkey, India and other countries that are developed in arms production.

Mentioning the ‘Forces Goal-2030’ as a befitting step for the development and structure of the armed forces, Hasina said that since assuming power in 2009, the Awami League government has taken practical steps to develop the country’s military.
